Overview
InformData has one of the largest healthcare databases. MedEx is a medical compliance product, offering 3 services: Sanctions and Exclusions check, Credential Check, and Abuse Registry Check. These can be ordered as one-time checks or continuous monitoring.
Product Description
Sanctions and Exclusions Check
Identifies health care providers and organizations that have limitations on their licenses or are excluded from federally funded programs.
Add-on License Verification Process
Manual license verification using human curation of results is available as an add-on service. This process involves searching a variety of primary sources to locate possible license information, and if we do not locate enough data to invalidate or match we will pursue more information using a history trace of an address to see if the addresses of the individual have ever aligned with the addresses of a located possible record. If there is still not enough information to invalidate or match, we will reach out to the board directly for verification.
Possible outcomes:
Invalid: No Match. The possible hit that was found does not match your applicant/individual. Your applicant is clear.
Match: The possible hit that was found has proved to be the same as your applicant/individual. This should be provided.
Indeterminant: We do not have enough information to confirm or deny if the result corresponds to your applicant/individual. For more stable results, further investigation using additional data would be recommended.
We require multiple identifiers to reduce false positives and to confirm matching license information. We invalidate records by a single identifying data point, but we can only provide a conclusive match based on multiple data points.
These identifiers are required: First Name, Last Name, DOB, and SSN.
Additional points of data can include Address, License Number, NPI, and Middle Name.
Credential Check
Verifies health care providers’ ability to practice including license checks, certification checks, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), American Board Certification checks and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
Abuse Registry Check
Identifies individuals with documented abusive behavior against adults or children through a database search of state Departments of Health. While this search is not available in all states, it does provide additional insight into candidates seeking to work with “vulnerable” populations at childcare and health care facilities.
Continuous Monitoring Solution
Allows clients to stay up to date with changes to subjects’ exclusions or board actions, without having to order the same search repeatedly. For exclusions, the client’s subject(s) is run through the MedEx search every day to confirm no new exclusions/board actions have been added. For licensing, the subject’s license is checked quarterly as well as by expiration date.
